New Crochet Pattern - In The Cloud Tank
You saw the first sneak peeks of this design last summer. My testers have been working away the past few weeks and it is finally ready for release.
This was one of not one but two (along with the Garden Path top) fun collaborations with WeCrochet using their CotLin yarn, which is hands down my favourite plant fibre yarn ever. It's a blend of cotton and linen that is super light and breathable, and comes in my dream palette of speckled and tonal whites and blues, along with a full range of beautiful solids. The pattern itself really stretched me as a designer, since I tend to be more comfortable designing knitting than crochet, and I wanted to use lots of shaping to create a perfect fit without much seaming. The resulting tank fits like a dream and will keep you feeling cool all summer. The lace is airy but dense enough to keep you feeling covered.
This design, as usual, comes in multiple formatting options wherever you choose to purchase - either on my website or Ravelry. It will also be available through Ribblr's unique interactive pattern platform. I always include a dark mode version (this is my personal preference for viewing on screens!) as well as a low vision version. The low vision format includes 24 point Arial text, no italics, no columns, minimal abbreviations, fully written instructions, and any photos have captions and alt text. I listen to the pattern using Read Aloud software to ensure that it will be clear and understandable to screen reader users.

Construction
This top is worked in one piece starting from the front hem, with immediate increases to create a circle hem and hip shaping. It decreases at the waist and then again for the armholes. The stitch pattern switches to lace openwork at your desired height for chest coverage. Once the neckline is reached, the work continues seamlessly over one shoulder and down half of the back, following the curves of the front with matching increases and decreases. The other shoulder and back are worked in mirror image, then button bands are picked up. Last, the sides are seamed and buttons attached up the spine.
